Mescalero Apache Telecom, Inc. (MATI) is a tribally owned and operated, full service telephone company located in Mescalero, NM. In addition to local and long distance telephone communications, MATI provides DSL and Dial-Up internet services via its www.MatNet.us division. Of the 575 recognized tribes in the US, Mescalero is one of only seven to provide on-site telecommunications services to its members. Tribal leaders from across the nation visit Mescalero regularly to study its telecommunications network and attend in-depth training courses that are offered as part of an outreach program to improve the state of telecommunications in reservations.
